About Meghan

Welcome to Managing Meghan

I am so glad you are here. Have you ever had one of those moments where you look at your life and realize you absolutely need to make a change? It’s funny, when I was a child, I used to be so organized. My room was clean and immaculate. But then adulting took over, and I ran out of time for even organizing. I would walk in the door after work, and a feeling of exhaustion would sink over me. There was just so much stuff everywhere. I could do the dishes every night, vacuum regularly, and pick up every single evening, but I could never seem to get ahead. But now we have a change.

Hubs is a little messy and has trouble remembering even the most basic organization in the house. We live in a very old, small, dark apartment. Of course this means there is absolutely no storage planned and built into the layout. So, this also means, we always, always have too much stuff.

We are far from where we want our house to be, but we began the journey of simplifying our life to give us more time. more space. more money. and less stress.

Hubs and I have been married for 8 years. We live in the heartland of America and use it as our center for traveling both our country and others. My husband and I are working hard towards our goals so we can have the life we value. Join us as we pursue what we are most passionate about and learn how to efficiently navigate life along the way.

Having an organized and relaxing space to come home to helps us to be at peace when we get home. Walking in the door can be especially hard when we come back from a long camping trip and feel a little crushed from being inside. We both love to camp, hike, and cook. You can find me organizing and Hubs messing it back up. 😉

Who is this blog for?

If you are overwhelmed by your home or schedule, I am here for you. My goal is to help encourage you to find more. More time, more money, more space, and more joy. One thing I have realized, is the journey to more is not a cut and dried option.

Each of us had different focuses, goals, and needs. But, no matter what you are hoping for, dreaming of, ore needing right now, you can find a way. In this blog, I am sharing practical, simple tips to have the life filled with joy. I hope to encourage you to start your journey to help yourself find the life that you truely want.

Simple living

Hubs and I are striving for a more simple life. We noticed that we are both happier when we are camping. Neither of us wants to live a minimalist lifestyle, but we do want to to spend our time on the things that matter the most. When we are camping, there are far less distractions to keep us from our goals. We are working toward simplifying our committments and belongings so we can focus on the things we actually like and care about.

We are learning when to say no and when to say yes. Just this one thing has helped me, especially, to focus my time on the things I care the most about instead of the things I feel obligated to do. I have begun writing again and have spent much more time with the people I care about.

4 things about me

1 ~ I have taught first grade for the past 7 years and loved every minute of it. Of course this means I am in desperate need of organization in what I call the space and time schooltinuum. Teaching is such a huge part of my life, and my students add a bright space to each second of my career.

2 ~ Living simply means I have more. More time, more money, more space, and more joy. I use my more to craft, travel, and spend time with the people I care about. What woudl you like to spend your more on?

3 ~ I have the hardest time decorating. I love to go to second hand stores and thrift shops to find unique items for a great price, but putting things together is rather difficult for me. It takes me years to actaully figure out how I want a space to look.

4 ~ The library is my jam. I love to read, and if I am not working, you will most likely find me with my nose deep in a book. I have my favorites that I read again and again. I am also always hunting for my next favorite.
